Kathleen Woodward, Manager, EHS&S ; Biogen Inc.
Kathleen joined Biogen in the Environmental Health Safety + Sustainability (EHS+S) department in 2003 as a summer intern. During her time at Biogen, Kathleen has been responsible for the environmental and emergency response programs for the Cambridge, MA site. In her current corporate EHS+S role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the EHS+S and Human Performance Management System. Several of her key responsibilities include implementing EHS+S critical IT tools, Communication Strategy, Incident Review Process, Performance Metrics, Training Program, Corporate Audit Process, and Risk Assessment Programs. Over the last 2 years Kathleen managed the procurement, implementation, and continuous enhancements of Biogen's new EMIS. The EMIS includes the following modules: Event Management, Sustainability Data, Audit Management, and Legal Register and Compliance Calendar. As part of this work, Kathleen worked closely with the Biogen's Sustainability Director and key stakeholders to design and implement a process and tool to collect and analyze sustainability data for internal and external reporting. Kathleen holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University Extension School and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Simmons College.
